Summary:

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 in Detroit modernized their facility and took steps to create a Zero Net Energy (ZNE) building. MSS worked in the Green Team Coalition to install 600 solar panels manufactured in Saginaw. IBEW also implemented other energy-conscious efforts including over 500 LED lights, energy-efficient windows, geothermal HVAC system, and more that has dropped energy usage by 76%. It is the largest ZNE building in the state of Michigan.
